Create custom Memorial Stones
I recently met a customer that had a very touching story about loss, healing, and helping others. She told me a story about how several years ago she lost her 22 year old son. I immediately thought of my mother, and just how devastated I know she would be if something ever happened to me or either of my sisters. I felt great empathy for this strong woman who told me that each day was difficult for her still. She further explained that the reason that she was calling was because she wanted to order memorial stones for a friend of hers who's husband had recently passed away. What I found really amazing was what she told me next. One year to the date, on the anniversary of her sons passing she woke up to a simple engraved memorial stone with her sons name on it. She was so very touched, and to this day she doesn't know who did that for her. I think it is amazing that in her own healing process, she is finding some comfort in being able to help others through theirs. Memorial stones can be simple or elaborate, but the comfort they bring from a touching gesture like this is always the same. Timeless.

Creating a Memorial Garden: Memorial Stones
Several days ago my grandmother passed away and left this world. Of course the loss of a loved one is difficult but I can't help but feel some relief for her. She had late stage Alzheimer's disease that had completely taken over. I know now that she is with my grandfather again and that she is no doubt playing the piano again. My grandmother was a beautiful pianist.
Both of my grandparents have been cremated and we are going to spread her ashes off the oregon coast where my grandfather is. It got me thinking that we don't have anything to memorialize them. My plan is to find a nice place on my parents property and create a Memorial garden for them. I am going to create custom Memorial stones for each of them to build the garden around. I'm always saying Memorial stones are a great way to honor the lives of your loved ones, and I now have an opportunity to create something nice for them and my family. I am going to consult my family members first to decide what should be included on the Memorial stones and also what plants and flowers they might have liked. I am also thinking about planting a tree as the center of the garden.
I will update this post as things progress and post pictures of the memorial stones. I would love to get feedback from readers also if you have some general design ideas for a memorial garden.

Pet Memorial Stone to honor your pet companion
In 2004 we lost our dog Riley. My parents own a nice home on 10 acres in a rural community outside of the Portland, Oregon metropolitan area. It is a great place for dogs to run and be happy. Our dogs have always been allowed to run around the property as they please and like many animals, they kind of set up their own boundaries, never leaving our property. 2004 was a tough year for our family, we had to put down Riley's dad Duke because he was 14 years old and couldn't walk anymore. Riley left our property where for almost a week and when he returned he was exhausted and wouldn't eat. We took him to the vet to find out he had salmon poisoning. We lost Riley a week after we had Duke put down. It didn't seem fair to lose both of them. We buried them next to each other on the property and recently honored them with custom pet memorial stones. It has been several years now since they were lost but their memory lives one through those pet memorial stones that are placed on there graves. I know many people who have pet markers even if they haven't buried their pet on their property. The engraved stones still give memory to our faithful pet companions. If you have lost a pet or know someone who has, consider custom engraved pet memorial stones. I know that it will bring you comfort in honoring your faithful friend.

Memorial Stones and the grieving process
Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy. ~Author Unknown
The loss of a loved one can be an extremely difficult time in ones life. The pain that we experience is both personal and unique to us. How one person grieves the loss of a loved one, can be very different in how another one grieves. There can be five stages of grief. A person may experience some of these stages or all of them at once. There is no specific order in which a person experiences these stages:
1. Denial
2. Anger
3. Bargaining
4. Depression
5. Acceptance
For more information on this process you can visit PubMed Health.
Grief is a process and it will take time. However, when you are ready, we are here to memorialize your loved one.
